Wind Turbine Farm
In recent years, the demand for the utilisation of wind energy has increased tremendously, which span the local government to commission the installation of five new wind turbines at the Tera Kora Wind Farm. CEC is at the helm of the design and project management of the installation process of the infrastructure that will support the wind farm expansion. This consists of proper road access, on site-tracks, turbine foundations, crane hard standings, and a construction compound. Some of these features are required only during the construction phase and others are more permanent. CEC has experience designing the supportive infrastructure of the wind farms in Tera Kora and Playa Canoa since their initiation.
The 5 new turbines have a wind generating capacity of 16,5 megawatts and produce an average of 200.000kWh per day. This is enough to power about 20.000 households. In total, Tera Kora Wind Farm covers 16% of the island’s electricity demand.
